Commemoration of the 1916 Rising
Easter Day is the most important day in the Christian calendar. Therefore, we will be celebrating the Resurrection of Christ on Easter Day.
The 1916 Rising took place on Easter Monday 1916, which was 24th April 1916, so on the 100th anniversary of that day, we will observe and commemorate the 1916 Rising, and all that makes our state, the state this it is today, at a united service in St Thomas’ Church at 10.30.
At 15.30, the National Service in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin, for the Church of Ireland to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 1916 Rising.
