Confirmation 2009
The Archbishop has written to the Rector, advising that he will administer the Rite of Confirmation on Sunday 27th September 2009 in St. Philip and St. James' Church, at 10.30 hours, for this Group of Parishes.
I take Confirmation and the preparation for Confirmation seriously, and I think it is important that we as family members, and as a parish, encourage those who wish to be confirmed, to do so with integrity.
If your son or daughter is thinking of being confirmed, please take the time to have a chat with them about why they want to be confirmed, what they think confirmation is about, and how and what they plan to do to help themselves to grow in their faith after they are confirmed.
Confirmation is an exciting time for those considering it, and for a parish or group of parishes. We, as a group of parishes, will support those preparing for Confirmation by our prayers and our encouragement.
Adult Confirmation
I have also been contacted by two adults regarding Confirmation and their preparation will take place separately. If any other adults are considering Confirmation, please contact me about it.
Confirmation Classes 2009
All Confirmation Classes will be held in the Canon Osborne Barr Room in Booterstown Parish Centre in the grounds of St. Philip and St. James' Church, Cross Avenue, Booterstown, Blackrock, County Dublin, unless otherwise notified.
Classes will start promptly at 7.00pm so everyone is to be there by 7.00pm to ensure a prompt start. Classes will finish at 7.45pm. Any queries, please contact Rev. Gillian Wharton at 01-2887118.
