Founder's Day Service for Scouting

On the fourth Sunday of February, we celebrate scouting and in particular, our parishes’ Scout Group, 25th Dublin (Mount Merrion) at the united service at 10.30 in St Thomas’ Church. Members of our Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venture Scouts and Ranger Scouts and their leaders will take part in the service. Lord Robert Baden-Powell who founded scouting was born on 22nd February 1857 and 22nd February each year, all over the world, is celebrated as Founder’s Day for Scouts. His wife, Lady Olave Baden-Powell was born on 22nd February 1889 and she founded guiding. 22nd February each year, all over the world is celebrated as Thinking Day for Guides. You are very welcome to this service, whether you are or were part of scouting or not. If you are or were part of scouting, we invite you to wear your neckerchief (scarf).
