No Church Services for three weeks due to COVID-19
The Taoiseach has just announced that Dublin City and County will enter Level 3 restrictions with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic tonight at midnight, and will remain at Level 3 for three weeks.
In line with this, all religious worship with the exception of weddings and funerals, is to take place online and not in churches or other indoor places of worship.
No Church Services in Church
Therefore, there will be no services in St Thomas’ Church or in St Philip and St James’ Church until further notice from the government, with the hope that we will be able to return to in-church worship again as soon as possible.
Online Services and Midweek Musical Treats
Charles Pearson, Mike Lee and I will resume making and recording short, online services and midweek musical treats each week, as we did from Sunday 22nd March – Sunday 26th June 2020 inclusive. The online service will be available each week from Sunday morning on our Youtube page (also via the parishes’ website) and on the parishes’ Facebook pages and my Facebook page.
Midweek Zoom Pray and Chat Time on a Wednesday 10.30-11.00
Each Wednesday morning, we will have a time for prayer and chat via Zoom to which everyone is welcome. You may join by computer or phone. I will email the Zoom details nearer the time.
Stay Well and Stay Safe
The important thing is to stay well and to say safe.
Help
If there is anything that I can do, please do not hesitate to contact me. There is also a small army of parishioners who are willing to help in whatever way they can. Church is about being a community that prays, cares and supports.
